Rainbow Glory

We had the most spectacular rainbow the other day that I have ever seen...it was even a double arch with the most brilliant colors! It brought to mind the old camp song, "Slide down my rainbow into my cellar door and we'll be jolly friends forevermore, more...

Man's best friend!

I do believe that Finley has stolen Rob's heart! These pictures say it all! Finley will be a year old on August 28th!

The first day of school...August 17, 2010. Evan is off to third grade and Anna is off the Kindergarten! They both are attending Hugh K. Cassell Elementary in Augusta County. As soon as they boarded the bus, the tears flowed! In the second picture, Evan was actually answering a question from the bus driver!

Inside the Parakeet Aviary

Apparently, these little birds love sweat! Siena was very unsure of them at first but in the end, she let one land on her and loved it!

A trip inside the parakeet aviary proved to be very interesting and ticklish at the same time!

Holden Beach July, 2010

Anna really enjoyed official boogie boarding this summer...Rob would take her out and help her catch a good wave to ride in.

Playing in the surf...

Our first full day at the beach...the kids had an absolute blast!

Hermit Crab hunting at the east end of the island

A favorite tradition is going hunting for hermit crabs at low tide. As always, we found loads of them. They are fun to capture and of course then release! Rob found a nice sized living conch this year. The kids enjoyed seeing it before we put it back.

Playing Putt-Putt

Alligator Adventure in Myrtle Beach

Here are a few from a day trip to Myrtle Beach...we went to Alligator Adventure on probably the hottest day of the summer!

Nan with the kids relaxing along with a few from the fishing pier. This is a tradition...The kids reported that not much was being caught the day they went!
