Halloween Spectacular

We attended our church's annual "Trunk or Treat" this year. Evan dressed up as Indiana Jones and Anna was a Pop Diva Cowgirl. As we found out upon arriving, church members go all out decorating the trunk of their car...we will know for next year (didn't get the memo this year). Good friends of ours did the Mystery Machine and our SS teacher and his wife did The Emerald City. There were many more great ones but my batteries ran out! The kids had a blast going from trunk to trunk getting treats. Then we came home and they went to a few houses in the neighborhood!

Anna's KG fieldtrip to the Pumpkin Patch

Anna's first fieldtrip was to the Valley Inn Pumpkin Patch in Port Republic, VA. We got rained on but had a blast none the less! We took a hayride to the patch to find a pumpkin, got to see some newborn calves, heard a spooky scarecrow story, had lunch and even had time to play in the hay maze. Anna is sitting between 2 new friends that Anna has made this year in KG...Cynthia (with the hood on) and Sarah.

Apple Picking at Carter Mountain

We went to Carter Mountain on the way back home from Richmond with The DuVal's. The kids all had such a fun time and we enjoyed all the mountain has to offer...apple picking, lunch followed by hot apple cider donuts, the breathtaking views, and even riding the Apple Bus!

Evan's Family Party

We celebrated Evan's birthday family style at Aunt Carver's house with Joe's Inn spaghetti and pizza and topped it off with a pumpkin pie for dessert. This was Evan's pick...we put candles in the pie for him! Uncle Ken, you will have to get your own Paper Jamz guitar!!!

Evan's 9th Birthday party at LaserQuest

Evan had his 9th birthday party at LaserQuest in Richmond over his b-day weekend. Everyone had a fun time...his Richmond buddies came (Andrew, Eli, Adam, Grant and Will DuVal) and his cousin Will came too! Rob even played under the code name of Big Daddy!

October camping trip to Sherando Lake

Went camping in October with family (all 4 Maynards came) and friends (Tom, Andrew and Claire Arnold) to Sherando Lake. We had lots of fun during the day but about froze at night...lows got down in the upper 30's! Some activities included hiking, exploring, building a fort, fishing, searching for crawdads, making s'mores, talent show, etc....

"Back Home on the Farm" Pumpkin Patch family trip

We visited
"Back Home on the Farm" Pumpkin Patch in Harrisonburg over the weekend. Here are some shots of the kids enjoying themselves. They rode the Pumpkin chute, cow train, fed farm animals, got almost lost in the huge corn maze, saw pig races, did crafts and games, and much more.

Anna and Claire enjoyed some time together at Katie's Playground in Richmond while Evan went to Andrew's (Claire's brother)birthday party. They had a ton of fun!
